Shop with a List, Not with Hunger

Entering the supermarket without a plan and on an empty stomach usually ends the same way: a cart full of unplanned items and, upon arriving home, a duplicate product that you already had in the pantry.
Before Leaving Home
- Open the fridge, pantry, and freezer and see what you have.
- Think about the meals for the next few days, even if it's just a general idea.
- Only write down what's missing for those meals and basic items that are running out.
- Group your list by sections (fruit, fresh produce, cleaning supplies, etc.) to avoid going back and forth through the aisles.
The Hunger Detail
If possible, don't go shopping when you're hungry. It's easier to be swayed by impulse buys or large sizes "just in case." Going after eating or with a snack helps you stick to your list.
At the Store
- Cross off each item as you pick it up.
- If you see a sale, ask yourself if it was in your plan or if you will truly use it before it expires.
- Check the expiration dates of fresh products.
After Shopping
Saving the receipt and recording it in Maurvia allows you to calmly compare what you planned and what you bought. With a few weeks of records, you'll see your own patterns without having to rely on memory.
Guidance only. Always check each product's label and your appliance manufacturer's manual.
